CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) — The most recent Farm Bill has made it legal to grow industrial Hemp and CBD shops are popping up all over Iowa.
One of those opening their doors is in Cedar Rapids called ‘Your CBD Store’. All of their products contain no THC or less than the .03%, that state law allows.
One of the store owners, Tyler Ramker said their family got started in the CBD industry after it helped his fiancee who was suffering from severe grand mal seizures, “She’s not had a grand mal seizure since June. Since she started the CBD she’s had a couple less severe ones but she’s really not had any of the grand mal seizures. She feels like she’s getting better and the seizures are getting less and less.. So if we can help other people not suffer, I mean that’s what we’re really after.”
After their store in Davenport saw success the family quickly expanded with five locations coming to life since September 2018.
Co-owner Rebecca Ramker said after seeing customers find the relief they were looking for, they wanted to expand. “They would come in and could barely more their hands because you know arthritis or fibromyalgia or different things like that. Now they’re coming back as repeat customers and they can function. We just wanted to grow and expand,” said Ramker.
They hope with the 2018 Farm Bill, Hemp and CBD laws become more black and white and allow Iowa farms to turn their hemp into CBD for Iowa storefronts.
They have two locations in Davenport, one in Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, and Moline, Illinois with more on the way.
